Description:
Staffordshire Bull Terriers are known to have great strength for their size. They are stocky and muscular, but should also be active and agile. The breed is the 5th most popular dog in the UK (its place of origin), and it is the only breed to have the words 'totally reliable' in its breed standard.

Temperament:
They have a reputation for being good with children; sometimes aggressive towards other animals but can be trained not to react to them if started young. They are truly wonderful family dogs, active, friendly, loyal and intelligent. They are easy to train and are truly great companions. Our dogs get on really well with all our other animals which has included chooks, cats, horses and other dogs. The staffordshire bull terrier is a very human orientated dog and needs to feel part of the family. This is not a breed that you can leave to sit in the backyard to entertain itself. Staffy's need to be with their owners for a good part of every day to be happy dogs.

Weight: 15 - 24kgs.
Colors:
Brindle, blue, black, red, fawn, blue fawn, white; or any of these with white and/or brindling through the coat.

Coat:
Smooth, short, and dense.
Care and Exercise:
Minimal grooming is necessary to keep their coats in top condition. Brush occasionally with a firm bristle brush. Rub down with a towel or chamois to remove loose hairs. Bathe only when necessary. All dogs need plenty of regular exercise which should consist of play time and daily walks on a leash. Most staffy's enjoy swimming and ball games.
Nutrition:
We feed our dogs "Supercoat" kibble as the staple part of their diet. Along with this our dogs are regularly fed fresh meat; for eg: chicken necks, wings, drumsticks & thighs. Steak off cuts, brisket bones, lactose free milk & sardines in oil. We feel this combination of fresh foods, with the kibble, helps to keep our staffy's in top shape & they love it! The bones in the chicken & brisket bones help to keep their teeth in good condition, provide calcium & other minerals & it's also great exercise for their jaws. The sardines are fed twice a week to keep their coats beautiful, shiny & healthy.
Worming:
To keep our dogs completely free of all parasites we use and recommend "Advocate" for dogs, according to their individual weights, every month. Also, our dogs wear "Preventic Collars" to protect them from ticks, as its the only bug Advocate doesn't protect against.

9. If I chew something up, all of the pieces are mine.
10. If it used to be yours, get over it.
11. If it's broken it's yours!
RELATIONSHIPS If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never say its not quite as good as his mothers... then adopt a dog! If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long and wherever you want... If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies... ..then adopt a dog. BUT, on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existance is solely to ensure his happiness... (You thought I was gonna say marry a man....didn't you?! haha) .JPG)

If you want someone who is content to get on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores...
..then adopt a dog !
